Kandinsky Project: Part Two
For my second lesson in the Kandinsky Project we studied the works of Kandinsky from his period teaching at the Staatliches Bauhaus. The Bauhaus was a German art school that was open from 1919 to 1933. It combined craft, fine art and architecture with modernist approaches. Bauhaus became the name of an art movement that was known for its emphasis on combining art and industrial design.
We focused on Wassily Kandinsky’s Circles within a Circle, 1923 and imitated it for our own artworks. The students used watercolour paints and black marker to make their pieces. The finished works were displayed in the classroom as part of the Russia themed art exhibition.
